Forest-wide fire restrictions prohibit campfires, open campfires, and stove fires throughout Mendocino National Forest from July 28, 2026 through December 1, 2026. Exceptions: persons with valid California Campfire Permit may use portable stoves (gas, jellied petroleum, pressurized liquid fuel) and may build campfires in designated fire safe recreation sites (Exhibit A) or federally designated wilderness areas (Exhibit B). Dispersed camping prohibited from all fires and stoves.
